Local Info
The Costa Calida ('the warm coast')/Murcia, a relatively undiscovered and unspoilt area of Spain, offers visitors the chance to discover the real Spain. It has the mildest climate in Spain with the most sunny days and temperatures in excess of 30C in summer, 20 - 25C in spring/autumn and 15 - 20C in winter. There is 250 km of coastline along two seas: the warm waters of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, offering wonderful beaches. It is a land of contrasts, so as well as the fantastic beaches, there are mountainous national parks, lush forests and huge plains.
The diversity of the landscape, the privileged climate and the cultural and historical richness make Murcia the perfect region to enjoy the outdoors: practise water sports or learn to sail on the tranquil Mar Menor (the clear waters make the Murcian coast one of the best places in Spain for scuba diving), take a mud bath, explore its mountains, go hiking, and of course, play golf on one of the numerous golf courses.

- Calblanque Natural Park
- Calblanque is a remote and almost untouched stretch of coast. This designated natural park enjoys secluded bays, solitude and an abundance of wild birds and flowers. Boardwalks criss-cross the sand dunes leading down to the beaches, with paths along the coast. The beaches are great for scuba diving and snorkelling as the sea is very clear. The area is abundant in wildlife and you may see: cypress groves, badgers, sea turtles, eagles, the eagle owl, the green woodpecker and flamingoes.
- Terra Natura Wildlife Park/Aqua Natura
-
A new-generation wildlife park - a new concept in habitat design which will enable you to come into contact with the animals as if there were no barriers between you - at least, no visible ones! The park is divided into two themed areas: the African Savannah and the Iberian Peninsula. You can see more than 300 animals some of which are in serious danger of extinction.
The Aqua Natura water park aims to recreate the Indian Ocean archipelago. It offers a really refreshing oasis of relaxation.
